The listening section

This consists of four parts, recorded texts, along with various conversations conducted between a range of native speakers. The answers to these questions have to be written in a paper-based test and typed or selected in an internet-based test. This section is conducted to test the ability of the candidate to evaluate everyday spoken language, accents and voices.

The reading section

This section is 60 minutes long. It comprises 40 questions. The questions test the candidates reading for detail, reading for gist, understanding logical argument,  attitudes and purpose and skimming. The best IELTS institute help student focus on how to manage their time in this section.

The writing section

This section is divided into two tasks. The first task is a report for academic students and letter-writing for general students. The second task is one essay. Both the sections require the analytical skills of the students and for them to be able to formulate answers and write them appropriately. The speaking section

This is an 11 to14 minute section. This is conducted face to face with an examiner. It has three sections- the first is a general awareness section, the next is where you have to talk impromptu about a topic given to you, the third is ideas and opinions.

The spoken exam needs to be scheduled.

The total time allotted for the test is 3 hours. The online exams are conducted in smaller batches and the speaking section is conducted over video calls. Those who are well versed with computers, typing and have dexterity over the use of computers should take the tests online.
