Format
IELTS exam consists of four sections: Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking each assessing different language skills and abilities. The test happens in one sitting and lasts 2 hours 45 minutes. Students can take the test either offline at the test centre or remotely online.
Note: The reading and writing tests are different in General Training tests.
Test Preparation
The Listening section consists of four recorded conversations or monologues, each with a different speaker and accent. Students are given time to read questions before listening to the recordings and then must answer a variety of questions about them. The Listening section lasts for approximately 30 minutes.
It is divided into four sections with ten questions each. The first two parts deal with daily social situations, and the other two sections deal with educational and training situations. Test takers will score 1 mark for every correct answer, so be sure to use correct spelling and grammar.
