Format

TOEFL test is set for a duration of 3 hours and comprises the assessment of four skills: Listening, Reading, Speaking, and Writing. During the test, test takers are asked to perform combined tasks so that the above-mentioned skills are assessed perfectly.

Test Preparation

This tests the candidate’s ability to understand the spoken language and also the different accents and dialects of spoken English. The listening pattern is divided into two categories- Lectures and Conversations
 
a) It has 5-6 minute long lectures, which in number are 3-4 lectures. Each of the lectures would have 6 questions.
b) Conversations- There would be a 2 speaker conversation of a 3-minute duration each. There would be 2-3 such conversations. 
 
The time allotted for this section would be 60-90 mins.

This focuses on how well a student can read and comprehend the written language. In this section, there are 3 to 4 reading passages constructed with 600 or more words. There would be 10 questions from every passage. The time allocation for this section called TOEFL iBT pattern of reading should be between 50 to 70 minutes. It has two subparts
 
Independent Task:  Here the candidates are evaluated on how they present their thoughts, opinions, and experiences;
