ALUMNI
Of UTA’s 220,000-plus alumni, approximately 65 percent live in North Texas. Their presence helps the University create an annual economic impact of almost $17.1 billion in the region.
FACILITIES
Students and faculty work at some of the most advanced learning environments in Texas, including the state-of-the-art labs inside the Science & Engineering Innovation & Research building and the North Texas Genome Center, the cleanroom in our nanofab lab, the kilns in our glass-blowing studios, the neonatal intensive care unit in our Smart Hospital, and the advanced materials and structures lab in the College of Engineering.
MOVIN' MAVS WHEELCHAIR BASKETBALL CHAMPIONS
Our men's wheelchair basketball team has won nine national championships. The Lady Movin' Mavs, our women’s wheelchair basketball team, won the national championship in 2016 and 2018.

RESEARCH
We have research centers in every discipline. Our efforts have earned us the classification as an “R-1: Doctoral Universities—Very High Research Activity” according to the Carnegie Classification of Institutes of Higher Education. STUDENT LIFE
With more than 300 campus organizations, more than 10,000 students living on or adjacent to campus, and a constant flow of speakers, entertainers, and musicians visiting year-round, UTA has unstoppable energy. Students, faculty, and staff put that energy to work doing service projects, contributing about 680,000 volunteer hours annually through programs like the Big Event and other programs and events.
TRADITIONS
Welcoming students back to campus, the Maverick Stampede is the ultimate two-week warm-up, with tons of activities hosted by student groups. Oozeball, our annual mud-volleyball tournament is our most popular tradition. It’s also the only time you’ll look back fondly on getting mud in your teeth. Bed Races, 1 bed + 4 wheels + a team of 5 = a 30-year tradition.
