Education System
Spain follows the Bologna System for higher education, with examinations held in a semester format. Alongside grades, students earn ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) credits. International students have several options:
- Bachillerato degree: To obtain the Bachillerato certificate (Spanish Baccalaureate/Bachelor Degree), secondary education certificate holders must study for an additional 4 years in Spain.
- Master’s degree: Available for those pursuing further studies after completing their Bachillerato degree, typically lasting 1-2 years.
- Vocational training (Ciclos Formativos): This program provides training in various vocational skills over four years. Options include Grado Medio (basic training) lasting for 2 years, and Grado Superior (specialization) occurring over the subsequent two years of the program.

Spanish Studies Abroad Merit-Based Scholarship
Spanish Studies Abroad has two programs- the Merit Based Scholarship and the Diversity Scholarship. The grant is available to a student willing to learn Spanish and who writes a compelling statement of purpose. The quantum of the grant varies between Euro 500 to Euro 1500.
CIEE Gilman Go Global Grant
The grant is awarded to meritorious students with financial limitations. To avail of the grant, proof from Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), Estimated Family Contribution (EFC) displaying on FAFSA Student Aid Report (SAR) is required. The quantum of the grant varies between $2500 to $4700.
GMIT Non-EU Student Scholarships
These scholarships are only for Non-EU students, The quantum is a bursary that is calculated to a value of up to 30% of non-EU fees. Non-EU fees for the academic year 2020/21 are: 1. Undergraduate Programmes - €9,950 2. Postgraduate Programmes - €12,000
